FAQ's

  1. What length of cable should I consider?

    • The ideal length depends on your charging setup. A longer cable offers more flexibility but might result in slower charging due to power loss over distance.
  2. What connector types are compatible with my vehicle?

    • Different vehicles use varying connectors like Type 1 (SAE J1772), Type 2 (Mennekes), CHAdeMO, CCS (Combo), or Tesla's proprietary connector. Ensure compatibility with your vehicle's charging port by checking your handbook.
  3. Is the cable suitable for both home and public charging stations?

    • Most cables are designed for both home and public stations, but it's essential to check compatibility and port types.
    • We offer both home plugin and cables that fit directly into your EV car charging station.
  4. What amperage or power rating is ideal for my vehicle?

    • This depends on your vehicle's maximum charging capacity. Higher amperage allows for faster charging but may require compatible charging infrastructure.
  5. Are the cables weatherproof and suitable for outdoor use?

    • Our high quality cables are weatherproof and designed for outdoor use.
  6. Do the cables come with any warranty or guarantees?

    • EV Cable Co. offer a 1 year warranty with all AV charging cables. Please contact support and raise a ticket should you have any issues.
  7. Can I use the cable with different electric vehicle models?

    • Some cables are compatible with multiple models, especially those featuring universal connectors like Type 2 (Mennekes). Type 1 connection is more restricted. Please refer to your vehicles handbook to confirm your connection.
  8. Is there any guidance on cable storage or maintenance?

    • Proper storage and occasional cleaning or inspection can prolong the cable's lifespan. Ensure cables are stored away from extreme temperatures or physical damage.
  9. Are there options for cable organizers or carrying cases?

    • EV carry bags can be purchased or may be offered as part of your purchase with EV Cable Co.
  10. Does the cable have any smart features, such as overcharge protection or temperature monitoring?

    • This will depend on the brand, see specifications on each product and brand.
  11. What materials are used in the cable's construction for durability?

    • ENTER INFO
  12. Is there a difference between regular charging cables and fast-charging cables?

    • Fast-charging cables often have thicker conductors to handle higher currents required for rapid charging. Ensure compatibility with your vehicle's fast-charging capabilities. Some vehicles can only charge at a certain kw per hour. Please refer to your vehicle handbook for your specification.
  13. Are there any recommended accessories that complement the charging cable?

    • Visit our accessories page.
  14. Is there a customer support or helpline available for assistance and troubleshooting?
